Your story told through film
Once in a while projects that are really wonderfully inspiring and worth while pass your way. MyStreet Films is just such a project. A living archive of everyday life, encouraging you to make your mark and bring your area to life, MyStreet uses video to record the experiences and people of a place that means something to you – a film festival about the places people live and breathe. Anyone can submit a film, 1 to 10 minutes in lenght, which gives the festival a decidedly grassroots feel. On their website you can watch the submissions and discover more about other people’s lives and place, like this little gem about a Jewish hotel in Golders Green. These films are part of the MyStreet community – an ever evolving slice of life, linked to the MyStreet map, search for them easily by postcode.
Mystreet are also running a crowdfunding campaign that you can support here (it’s so worth it).
Submissions are open and there are prizes to be won. Films submitted this year, (from June 2011) will be screened at Open City Docs Fest (June 21-24, 2012). They will be watched and judged by our internationally acclaimed jury and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded. Why don’t you submit?
