Very exciting news in this guest blog from Hub member Antonio Borges.
A month ago, I stood up at a members’ council at Hub Westminster and told you I thought the Hub needed to deliver on its promise to be a place to learn.
The Hub team and the Academy team have since been working to assemble a programme of classes and speaker series and connecting with experts, experienced entrepreneurs, service providers and academics to create a place where entrepreneurs can find information, guidance and contacts to help them start-up, grow, partner, plan for exit.
So, we have now posted our first few classes:

Our programme classes will aim to address specific skills and tools that are valuable to entrepreneurs and startups. And we will be developing it over the coming weeks, adding sessions in Marketing, Sales, People and Teams, etc.
We will also be running a speaker series, with successful and experienced entrepreneurs, to provide experience, inspiration and guidance.
For example on Wed 16 May we will be hearing from Darren Fell Founder and MD of Crunch Accounting on creating a business model that disrupts an industry and on sucessful growth.
This is just the beginning.
We’d like to hear from you on topics you are interested in, classes you would like to see offered, instructors and speakers you would like to hear from and about you – especially if you have experience or expertise and would like to teach a class.
Classes and speaker sessions will cost from £10 to £30 to ensure we build a high quality programme. But mostly because, as we are a collaborative community, we’d like to create a pool for funding startups going forward – whether through grants, loans or equity investments. But we’ll have more to say about this later on.
And we will always provide a means for you to air your views and give us feedback – whether through a class survey, an online comments and rating system, or just reading your emails, talking to you and paying attention to twitter.
Check in at Academy website - we are working on a website, but for the moment, let us know who you are and we’ll start the dialogue.
Follow us on twitter @academylon, and help us get the word out!
For the final list of available classes and to register for classes go to Academy on Eventbrite
And of course, if you’d just like to chat, come in to the Hub and see me or send an email – firstname.lastname@example.org.
